How I Spent My Third Semester Break

Assalamualaikum, hello and hye!

Today marks the end of my third semester break, 14th day. I don't have such a long period of semester break compared to other local universities. We only have 2 weeks of semester break as the study program operates on the three semester system in a year (two long semester and one short semester), hence, explaining the short semester break.

Anyway, what was my life like on last semester? Busy as we were but not that chaos like on 2nd semester. There were 6 subjects to be covered but to be frank, I didn't manage to study all of them hahaha! Open and Distance Learning (ODL) undeniably challenging. Everything was fully online, studying alone in my bedroom, sometimes suffering slow internet connection and the battle towards procrascinating when you lost motivation to study.

Whatever it was, I was still so glad that I managed to survive this! The result came out good, alhamdulillah. Oh and yes! I've spent my semester break doing a lot of things! I enjoyed a lot without worrying about having to complete tutorials and assignments. Oh gosh! No alarm clocks, no classes to attend, no papers to revive. With finals over, the time had come to enjoy the holiday! So, what did I do during the semester break?

1. Ice Skating

This wasn't my first time going to ice rink but still, ice skating gave you such a thrill! I would never get tired of it. Was ice skating difficult? Em I would say yes as it makes me feel overwhelmed at first but with enough of a courage, I got used to it. As long I can balance myself, leisurely skate and glide, I would be alright. I rarely fall on ice skating but it did happen here 😹. I accidentally tripped over the toe pick while speeding and then boom!

Toe pick located at the front end of a skate. It helps figure skaters to jump and spin but mostly hate by ice hockey players. They call it: The dreaded toe pick.

Just like I did.
Oh gosh! You know how hurt my elbow was?
Nah, at least I knew what falling down felt like, at least.

2. Dabong One Day Trip

Dabong is a small town district in Kuala Krai, Kelantan. Located about 77 km from my house. I was apparently in dire need of a fully concentrate on driving 😂. The road was sometimes too narrow, with paved road surface, potholes but the scenery along the route was breathtaking, yeah still worth it.

I went to Dabong on 22th October, Friday, together with my friend, Hafisha and her mother. It was my second time coming here on this year. My first time coming here back on April 2021, right before MCO started.

Exploring Gua Ikan was an amazing experience! This cave wasn't that extreme as you can just walked through without a tour guide but hey! The spot worth pictures taking!

I've always wanted to ride an ATV before and finally I got the chance! It costs us RM50 for a quad bike. The trail go through the forests and rivers. I was a little nervous at first but the entire trail passed in an amazing way! I would be delighted to experience more!

3. Desaru Trip

My classmate, Hazirah and I wanted to go to Desaru Coast, so we decided to go on Sunday, 31th October. Our initial plan was to go to Legoland but then we found out that Desaru Coast was giving discount on ticket. It costs only RM50 (Original price: RM150). So, yeah 😆.

I traveled a few hundred miles from Kuala Krai to Kluang with a train, on Friday night. I purchased a ticket for 8.28 PM and it costs me RM48. After a long journey, finally, I reached Kluang Station at 10 AM on Saturday. It takes almost 14 hours to arrive. Hazirah came to pick me up. Then, we had a breakfast before going to Desaru.

Mind you, we had no proper shot for the trip. You can imagine there were two friends minding their own business, playing and playing (We left the waterpark after they closed the gate! 😂). We enjoyed the trip to the fullest!

Oh yes, the two of us stayed at a Lotus Desaru Apartment for 3D2N.

4. Skytrex-Adventure

Skytrex Adventure provides a tree to tree sky-trekking experience (flying fox). My first sky-trekking in Sungai Congkak experiencing undoubtedly enchanting and exciting! Light rain began when we were about to start but hey! Who cares?

5. Hiking

It was on 6th November I decided to hike Bukit Botak in Puncak Alam. The hike starts out at 10 AM. To begin with, I didn't frequently hike mountains. As expected, my lungs felt like they were about to explode! But on my continuation of the hike, the scenery is spectacular! You could see the green scenery, the blue sky, giant clouds, the bright sun.

Worth the pain!

6. Swimming 🏊

I didn't think it appropriate to put photos of me swimming in a pool here. So, yeah.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new academic semester will start tomorrow. I'm on way to return back to the daily grind after a break. Just think of the first day of a new semester could be a stinging slap for me to get back to reality as a full time student once again.

However this semester break forever holds a special place in my heart.

If you've also just started a new semester, let's do it well! 😄

That's all from me.

Toodles.
